Rendezvous With Destiny
I have a high school classmate who is a sergeant for the U.S. Army based in Korea. I found out that he would be assigned to the 101st Airborne Division.
The 101st or the “Screaming Eagles” are renowned for action during the Normandy Landings and the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. They’re trained for air assault operations. Remember Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan?
With the war in Iraq coming to a close, the U.S. will probably concentrate and intensify its war efforts in Afghanistan. My friend might get some combat experience there. Good luck to you bro!

Aquinas, Aquinas
“You call him a Dumb Ox; I tell you that the Dumb Ox will bellow so loud that his bellowing will fill the world.” – Albertus Magnus
The year 2009 is the year of the ox according to Chinese astrology.
But January 28 also marks the feast day of the “dumb ox” a.k.a. St. Thomas Aquinas, patron saint of all catholic schools, the Pontifical University of Santo Tomas (UST) and Aquinas School in the City of San Juan.
Nostalgia time.

AQUINAS HYMN
Aquinas, Aquinas with voices glad we sing of praise to you
We hail you and thank you for shedding light on our life’s pathways
A sun so glorious shall be the guiding sign o’er hills and vales
That shall forever be a light to guide our steps to God and thee
Aquinas, Aquinas, lead us on our way
Be our ideal and keep us in thy loving care
Dear Alma Mater we are loyal, brave and true
Once and forevermore, we pledge our loyalty to you.
